- Properties and Applications
AGITAN 295 is a highly effective defoamer for emulsion based and water reducible systems. It can also be used in clear coats, highly pigmented systems, low viscosity systems and the manufacture of emulsions and dispersions.
Main applications:
- Architectural coatings
- Manufacture of emulsions
- Emulsion plasters
- Building materials
- Industrial and wood coatings
- Printing inks
- Adhesives
- Recommended Levels and Use
Normal dosage ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 % on the finished product. AGITAN 295 is typically added undiluted during pigment grinding for optimum distribution and deaeration. For most efficient use 2/3 of AGITAN 295 is added to the pigment dispersion and 1/3 is added to the letdown. For the manufacture of emulsions it is necessary to add AGITAN 295 to the water phase.

- Storage and Handling
AGITAN 295 is not sensitive to freezing, but for better handling it should be stored between 15 and 25 °C. As the product tends to separate it must be mixed before use. The minimum shelf life in closed containers is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
