Niacet Anhydrous HCl (High Purity/Electronic Grade)

Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride (AHCl) is a colorless gas which plays an important role in various technologies and in pharmaceutical/chemical industries. The majority of Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride is used to produce hydrochloric acid, a solution of AHCl in water. Concentrations range from less than 1% up to 38%. The latter is referred to as “concentrated” or “fuming” hydrochloric acid.

Applications

Beside the use in hydrochloric acid, AHCl is also an important reagent used in chemical transformations, e.g.:

  • Hydrochlorination of rubber
  • Production of vinyl and alkyl chlorides
  • Production of pharmaceutical products
  • the semiconductor industry, it is used to both etch semiconductor crystals and to purify silicon via trichlorosilane (SiHCl3).
  • cotton treatment to delint it, and to separate it from wool.
  • organic synthesis, e.g. generation of chloride based Lewis acids which must be absolutely dry to keep their reactivity, etc.
