Features & Benefits

Performance Advantages Cellulose Ethers Versus Synthetics
  • Water retention - Bermocoll helps to retain the water within the paint film and also to delay it from penetrating into the substrate or evaporating. This gives an increased open time.
  • Contribute to dispersion by improving flow during grinding.
  • Contribute to stabilization (prevent flocculation) of pigments.
  • Robust/Stable viscosity and creamy texture.
  • Natural renewable polymer with chief component wood pulp or cotton linters.

Performance advantages: Low viscous

  • Maximum open time/water retention.
  • Leveling.
  • High application (ICI) viscosity.

Performance advantages: High viscous

  • Efficiency
  • Texture
  • Economic

Applications & Uses

Compatible Polymers & Resins
Applications
  • BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ is used in latex paints for thickening and stabilizing effects. Normal dosage in paints is 0.2 - 0.5 % calculated on the total paint weight.
  • BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ is easily dispersed in cold water of pH7 or less.
  • BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ can form lumps when added to an alkaline liquid. To avoid this, it should be added as a ready stock solution, as a slurry in slight acid water or in an organic solvent, or as a dry mix with other powder materials.

Safety Information

Like many industrial processed powdery materials, cellulose ether dusts are combustible and can cause dust explosions. Dust formation must be avoided or kept to a minimum. Care should be taken to prevent ignition from heat, spark, open flames or hot surface.

Packaging and Transport

BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ is packed in polyethylene plastic bags. Net weight 20 kg. We recommend emptying the bags from the bottom. The empty bags can be recycled or burned.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions

In unopened bags, BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ can be stored for several years. In opened bags, the moisture content of BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ will be influenced by the air humidity. At the temperatures above 250°C (480°F), charring of BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ will occur.

Storage Conditions
At high temperatures and in contact with an open flame, BERMOCOLL EM 7000 FQ will burn slowly with the characteristics of cellulose.
