NovaCentrix manufactures spherical aluminum nanopowder with an average particle size of 80 nm and a specific surface area of 25 m2 /gm. The powder has 75% active aluminum content by mass, and a 2-3 nm oxide passivation layer. The high specific surface area leads to high reaction rates, making it suitable for systems such as primers, propellants and explosives.
