This is no Maze! O&3 presents Maize Seed Oil, Refined. Also known as Corn Oil, you may know Maize more as an ingredient for food application. You are not wrong, but it is also a great emollient for skin & hair care products. It is rich in essential fatty acids such as linoleic acid (omega 6) which is great for the body internally & externally. Even better it contains a decent amount of vitamin E which is just the antioxidant both the oil and the body needs to rejuvenate skin & hair cells.

This arid (very resilient!) savanana plant is found on the periphery of the Sahara. This plant is able to remain green all year long, forms a true green shield by playing a permanent arm-wrestling with the mineral desert. It draws the moisture necessary for its survival thanks to an efficient root system capable of sinking very deeply into the ground. As a “pioneer plant”, it is a green oasis that allows other plants to find shelter under its soothing shadow. Locally the plant is a source of nourishment, the young leaves are consumed as spinach, the ripe fruits are appreciated & eaten like "candy" by children & the old people who find an invigorating food supplement. Finally, the seeds provide an oil by cold pressing, this latter is consumed as food locally, but has also become popular in the cosmetic world due to its attractive fatty acid profile.

It is produced by the melting of the butter & skimming the fat off of the top. The result (once cooled) is a creamy looking solid. Rich in vitamin A, D, E & K, this products is common in Asian cooking & now commonly used in food application worldwide, but it also is used as a cosmetic base due to its ease of handling. With a high melting/smoke point this product can act as a super body butter base, allowing you to flavor/fragrance however you wish.
