Oltchim 1,2 - Dichloroethane (Technical Grade)

1,2-Dichloroethane is a colorless liquid with a similar odor with chloroform's one. It is very flammable, and by burning gives HCI. 1,2-Dichloroethane is explosive under the action of an open flame. The product gives explosive mixture with air, within 6.2-16% vol limits.

Applications & Uses

Main Applications
  • Intermediate in organic compounds manufacturing (particularly for vinyl chloride monomer);
  • As solvent for fats, oils, vaxes, synthetic and natural resins, not- vulcanized rubber, poliacrylates and metacrylates, polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate;
  • Anti-explosive (removes lead atoms from internal combustion engines).
