Product Information

A broadleaf herbicide for control of most species of thistles, buttercup and many common pasture weeds in PASTURE and NON-CROP situations

Active Ingredient: 680 g/liter 2,4-D as the ethylhexyl ester in the form of an emulsifiable concentrate.

General Information

Synergy™ 2,4-D Ester 680 is a broadleaf herbicide for control of most species of thistles, buttercup and many common pasture weeds in pasture and non-crop situations. Best results are obtained when weeds are in the seedling stage of growth and are actively growing. Note: Synergy 2,4-D Ester 680 is damaging to all clovers, particularly red, subterranean and suckling clover. To minimize damage, graze pasture to reduce clover leaf and to expose target weeds, and leave for one week to allow weeds to recover before spraying.

Applications & Uses

Spillage

Exclude non-essential people from the area. Wear protective clothing and prevent material from entering waterways. Absorb spill with inert material such as soil, sand, etc, and place in a waste container. Wash area with water, and absorb with further inert material. Dispose of safely to a suitable landfill.

Rainfall

Do not spray if rain is expected within 3 hours of spraying.

Drift

The addition of a suitable drift control agent such as Kiwi Cover ™ is recommended to reduce spray drift onto non-target species.

Withholding Periods

It is an offense for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds. Poisonous plants may become more palatable after spraying, and livestock should be kept out until plants have died down. For animal safety reasons, do not graze treated pasture for 2 weeks after application.

Resistance Management

GROUP O1 HERBICIDE

Synergy 2,4-D Ester 680 belongs to the phenoxy chemical family. Some naturally occurring weeds may become resistant when excessive use of the same herbicide occurs. To prevent or delay the development of resistance, use in tank mixes and/or rotate use with herbicides with a different mode of action. Consult http://resistance.nzpps.org/index.php for alternative modes of action and details of resistance management strategies (if any) for the crops listed on the label.
