Applications & Uses

Spillage

Extinguish any ignition sources. Exclude non-essential people from the area. Wear protective clothing and prevent material from entering waterways. Absorb spill with inert material such as soil, sand, etc, and place in a waste container. Wash area with water and detergent, and absorb with further inert material. Dispose of safely to a suitable landfill.

Mixing

Mix the required quantity in the spray tank partly filled with water, and maintain agitation through filling and spraying.

Drift

The addition of a suitable drift control agent such as Synergy Low Drift is recommended to reduce spray drift onto non-target species.

Withholding Periods

It is an offense for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds. Poisonous plants may become more palatable after spraying, and livestock should be kept out until plants have died down

Resistance Management

GROUP O3 HERBICIDE

Synergy Brushkiller contains the active ingredients picloram and triclopyr, both of which belong to the pyridine carboxylic acid chemical family. Some naturally occurring weeds may become resistant when excessive use of the same herbicide occurs. To prevent or delay the development of resistance, use in tank mixes and/or rotate use with herbicides with a different mode of action. Consult http://resistance.nzpps.org/index.php for alternative modes of action and details of resistance management strategies (if any) for the uses listed on the label.

Directions For Use
Weed Rate – Gun mL/100 L water Rate – Aerial Liter/Ha Critical Comments
Blackberry 500 - 650 10 Spray in summer to early autumn when actively growing. Use higher rates for low growing and hard grazed plants in Northland and NI East Coast. Some types may be difficult to kill.
Broom 250 10 Spray in spring to early summer when leaves are present. Control is best on smaller bushes less than 3 m high, with stems less than 3 cm diameter. Hard grazed or scattered bush should be ground sprayed.
Gorse 250 10 Ground: During periods when plants are dormant, or growth is slow, eg, under hot, dry, cold or dusty conditions, or when plants have been grazed or slashed, apply with Synergy Penetrant at 100mL per 100 liters of spray mix. Follow up treatment may be necessary for complete control. Aerial: Apply with Synergy Penetrant at 2 liters per hectare during active growth. Control is best on smaller bushes less than 3 m high, with stems less than 3 cm diameter. Hard grazed or scattered bush should be ground sprayed.
Gorse (North Canterbury) 300 10 Ground: Apply with Synergy Penetrant at 100mL per 100 liters of spray mix. Follow up treatment may be necessary for complete control. Aerial: As above
Lupin 100 2
Matagouri 500 12 Best results are achieved in November / December under moist growing conditions and when in full flower. Control may be reduced in dry conditions or where lichen is present on bark.
Sweet Brier 300 - 500 12 Best results are achieved in November to early January during leaf emergence to green hip stage. Ground: Thoroughly wet the crown. Aerial: Best results are achieved on bushes less than 2 m high.
Tutu 300 10 Apply to fresh regrowth when fronds have expanded.
