Properties

PAT-ADD AF 34 is dispersible in aqueous systems and can be incorporated (depending on dispersion power characteristics of the applied system) by applying mild to high shear dispersion forces. PAT-ADD AF 34 is most suitable for use in dispersion paints and industrial paint systems; furthermore for flexo inks as well as for use in pigment dispersions.

Benefits
  • Oil-free
  • Reduces risk of micro-foaming
  • Requires only low dosages; does not contribute to VOC
  • Clear liquid, showing excellent shelf stability

Dosage & Addition

The optimal amount of PAT-ADD AF 34 to be used is system related, but generally is between 0,08 and 0,8 % PAT-ADD AF 34, calculated on the total weight of formulation.Proper incorporation by mild to high shear mixing is prefered, in order to ensure proper distribution and minimize risk of film defects. For pigment dispersions, dosages up to 1 % may be required. It is recommended to add part of the required dosage prior to pigment grinding and the remaining part to the mill-base before the let-down step of paint manufacturing. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions and is best determined experimentally.
