Surmax® CS-727MA is an alkaline stable surfactant that is designed primarily for use in liquid formulations containing high levels of sodium hydroxide. It is freely soluble in 50% NaOH and 45% KOH. If additives such as gluconic acid, sodium gluconate or sodium glucoheptanate are to be used, it is recommended that these additives be premixed with a small amount of water and Surmax® CS-727MA. This premix can then be added to liquid caustic or the caustic can be added to the premix. Surmax® CS-727MA has relatively poor solubility in phosphates and silicates. 1% Surmax® CS-727MA is soluble in 10% TKPP and 10% sodium metasilicate. Higher levels of Surmax® CS-727MA are not soluble in these levels of TDPP and sodium metasilicate.
