Citrus and mangoes
- Thorough spray coverage of the tree with Nemesis 100 EC is very important because effective control is dependent on scale crawlers coming into contact with residues of the product where ever they may move or settle on the tree.
- It is highly desirable to use this treatment in conjunction with good ant control.
- Nemesis is registered for use in combination with BP Cipron or BP Medium Spray oil in citrus, and BP Medium spray oil in mangoes. (Do not apply BP Cipron to mangoes).
- It is possible that the addition of mineral oil to Nemesis 100 EC in citrus and mangoes may have a variable detrimental impact on yield and coloring when applied as indicated. To minimize this possibility restrict application to healthy well irrigated orchards and do not spray if the temperature is above 30ºC.
- Under conditions where the addition of mineral oil may not be desirable, BreakThru® S240 can be used in a tank mixture with Nemesis 100 EC. The residual efficacy of the Nemesis 100 EC in such a mixture may be somewhat shorter than in a tank mixture with mineral oil.
Tomatoes
- Nemesis 100 EC is an insect growth regulator, and will only control the juvenile nymphal stages of the white fly. Adult insect may still be seen after the first application of Nemesis 100 EC.
THE RELEASE OF BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AGENTS:
- The hymenopterous scale parasitoids Aphytis holoxanthus and A. lingnanensis can be released in orchards immediately following treatment with Nemesis 100 EC.
- The coccinelid mealybug predator Cryptolaemus montrouzieri can be realeased into an orchard 45 days after the application of Nemesis 100 EC in such an orchard.
- Directions For Use
COMPATIBILITY
NEMESIS 100 EC 100 EC is compatible with BP Cipron (Reg. No. L 1603), BP Medium spray oil (Reg. No. L6491), benomyl WP, Dithane M45 (Reg. No. L1613), Meothrin 200 EC (Reg. No. 2023), Elsan (Reg. No. L3303), BreakThru® S240 (Reg. No. L6764),
- Mixing Instructions
Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Add the required quantity of Nemesis 100 EC. Fill the spray tank with water as well as the amount of oil needed to the required level while maintaining agitation to ensure thorough mixing of the spray mixture before spraying commences. Maintain agitation while spraying. Prepared spray mixture must not be left overnight in the spray tank. Ensure that agitation takes place for a few minutes prior to commencement of spraying after normal operational stops e.g. lunch break.
- Application Instructions
Citrus and mangoes:
- Apply as a full cover spray using suitable application machinery.
- Ensure that all above-ground parts of the tree are thoroughly wetted with spray mixture.
- Ensure thorough wetting of the tree tops.
- The number of Nemesis 100 EC containing treatments required to prevent citrus red scale movement to fruit in particular orchards will vary according to the prevailing scale density. This density can be ascertained with the aid of regular orchard inspection and analysis of scale cull at harvest the previous year. Two general infestation levels and relevant Nemesis 100 EC treatments are defined for practical use.
- The late corrective treatment may only be applied to orchards that have been treated with the single (maintenance) application at 80 – 100% petal fall, or to orchards that have not been treated with Nemesis 100 EC at all during the cropping season.
Tomatoes
The plants must be thoroughly wetted, particularly the undersides of the leaves, where the nymphal stages occur.

Multiple applications:
PREVENTIVE APPLICATION(S):
1st Spray:
30 ml Nemesis 100 EC
plus
300 ml mineral oil
or
5 ml BreakThru® S240.
In this situation there would have been negligible scale on fruit the previous summer and at harvest, and live scale will be difficult to find on the tree framework.
Apply as a full cover spray as soon as the first crawler movement is noticed, (typically at bud burst), but not earlier than 15 August.
2nd Spray:
30 ml Nemesis 100 EC
plus
200 ml mineral oil
or
5 ml BreakThru® S240.
Apply as a full cover spray at 80-100% petal drop or shortly thereafter. (5 - 8 weeks after 1st spray)
OR
Single application (Maintenance)
30 ml Nemesis 100 EC
plus
200 ml mineral oil
or
5 ml BreakThru® S240.
This single application can only be used following a season during which multiple applications of NEMESIS
100 EC were made, resulting in a commercially clean orchard.
Apply as a full cover spray at 80-100
% petal drop or shortly thereafter. This application should only be used where no harsh thripicides are included in the spray program. These orchards must be carefully scouted and treated with oil in the summer if necessary.
B. Scale not under commercial control.
In this situation scale density levels can vary from moderate infestation on framework and crop to infestations where trees are in a state of terminal decline.
Apply 3 Sprays.

- Precautions
Avoid any inhalation of spray mist and contact with concentrate.
Wear protective clothing - overalls, rubber boots, face-shield and gloves and wash contaminated clothing daily.
Wash with water and soap after use.
In case of contact with eyes, wash immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during handling, application and before washing.
Clean applicator after use. Dispose of wash water where no contamination of dams, rivers, grazing or crops can occur.
Prevent spray from drifting to other crops, grazing and dams.
Rinse empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner.
Destroy empty container by perforation and do not use for any other purpose. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, eating utensils and drinking water.
