Directions For Use

USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.

SPRAY VOLUME PER HECTARE

Apply in sufficient amount of water to ensure thorough coverage o1 all bunches without excessive run-off. Use calibrated spray equipment to ensure uniform coverage to both sldes of all bunches. Ensure that no droplet forms at the bottom of the berries. Do not use a coarse droplet size. Apply as a bunch directed spray, adjust spray volumes based on canopy structure and spray equipment. Spraying with handguns directed at the bunches is not recommended.

In many cases, spray volumes of approximately 1000 L/HA have been shown to be adequate.

CONSULT THE TECHNICAL ADVISOR OF YOUR PROTONE•" DISTRIBUTOR.

Time Of Application
  • Apply when wind conditions will not cause excessive spray drift.
  • Apply in the early morning or evening when conditions are best for slow drying (cooler temperature and higher humidity), in order to ensure adequate absorption of the product. If applied in the morning, assure that the bunches are not too wet from dew.
  • Delay applying of ProTone after rain until bunches are free of surface droplets. Application should be made only when a 6-hour rain free period is expected. If rain falls within 6 hours of application reduced response should be anticipated. Do not re-spray in the event of rain falling within 6 hours of application
Mixing Instructions
  • Do not pre-mix ProTone*M.
  • Fill a clean spray tank half-filled with clean water and engage the agitator. Add the required amount of ProTon TM_ A non-ionic surfactant is required at the registered rate for table grapes.
  • Product performs best at water pH between 5 and 7; do not exceed pH of 8.5. Continue to agitate while bringing the total volume of water to the required level. Use the ProToneT ^ spray solution within 24 hours of mixing.

Conditions

Apply 1000 L water / ha, as a bunch directed spray with a non-ionic surfactant.

Ensure even and thorough coverage of all bunches as uneven coverage may result in unevenly colored bunches.

ProTone results may vary on specific blocks based on the canopy structure, crop load, rootstock, soil type, geographical area and the season.

Color response to ProTone applications increases with increased dose rates, multiple applications or in combinations with ethephon.

Multiple applications may be necessary in poor coloring blocks or unfavorable environmental conditions.

NOTES

  • Do not mix ProTone with pesticides, insecticides, fungicides or plant nutrients.
  • Use properly calibrated spray equipment that ensures uniform and complete coverage of all bunches.
  • Color response of table grapes after a ProTone application is dependent on many interacting variables such as timing & rate of application, cultivar, root stock, tree age, crop load, soil type, canopy structure, nutrition status, leaf removal, environmental conditions and interaction with ethephon. Local knowledge is essential if the desired result is to be attained.
  • Seek expert advice before using ProTone for the first time on table grapes.
  • ProTone treated grapes should be harvested at optimum color and maturity standards.
