REMARKS

POTATOES

Potato tuber moth

larvae

(Phthorimeae

operculella)

Tomato leaf miner

larvae

(Tuta absoluta)

200mℓ

Apply as a full cover application in 500 - 1000ℓ of

water as soon as the pests are noticed or as a

follow-up treatment in a spray program.

To obtain effective control, 2 to 4 applications should

be  made,  with 7 - 10  day  intervals  between

applications.   To assist in the control of tuber moth

and tomato leaf miner the potatoes should be ridged

at least twice during the cropping season.

A SUMIPLEO spray program targeted against potato

tuber moth  and tomato leaf miner larvae will result in

a   reduction   of   Potato   leaf   miner                                    (Liriomyza

huidobrensis) and/or American leaf miner (Liriomyza

trifolli) damage by 50 - 80% in potatoes.

To reduce the potential for resistance development,

SUMIPLEO should be applied in a spray program

that includes the use of other insecticides with a

mode of action different to that of SUMIPLEO.

Apply as a full cover application in 500 - 1500ℓ of

water as soon as the pests are noticed, or as a

follow-up treatment in a spray program.

To   obtain   effective   control, 2   to   maximum 4

applications should be made, with 7 - 10 days spray

intervals between applications. Apply at least two

consecutive applications of SUMIPLEO as part of

the  insecticide  spray  program.  Apply  the  lower

dosage  rate  preventively  and  the  higher  dosage

when the pest is present.

A   SUMIPLEO   spray   program   targeted   against

African boll worm and Tomato leaf miner larvae will

result   in   a   reduction   of   American   leaf   miner

(Liriomyza trifolli) damage by 50 - 85%  and of

Tomato semi  - looper (Chrysodeixis acuta) by  60  -

90% in tomatoes.

To minimize the potential for resistance development

of Tomato pests, SUMIPLEO should be applied in a

spray program, commencing with at least two

consecutive SUMIPLEO block applications, followed

by at least two consecutive DIPEL DF (L6441) block

applications, applied at the registered dosage rate.

Refer to the DIPEL DF (L6441) label for further

details.

Do not apply more than four SUMIPLEO applications

per growing season.  Should more applications be

needed in order to obtain season long control of

insect pests, alternative insecticides with a different

mode of action to that of SUMIPLEO or DIPEL DF

(L6441) should be applied.

CRUCIFEROUS

CROPS

(CABBAGE,

CAULIFLOWER,

BROCCOLI &

Diamond back moth

larvae (Plutella

xylostella)

200mℓ

Apply as a full cover application in 500 - 1000ℓ of

water as soon as the pest is noticed, or as a follow-

up spray in a spray program.

To obtain effective control, 2 to 4 applications should

be made, with 7 - 10 days between applications.

To    minimize    the    potential    for    resistance

development, SUMIPLEO should be applied in a

spray  program  that  includes  the use of other

insecticides with a mode of action different to that of

SUMIPLEO.

VILLA 51

Apply as a full cover application in 200 - 500ℓ of

water preventively, or as soon as moths are caught

in traps, or when eggs or larvae are noticed on the

plants. Ensure thorough spray coverage of the crop.

To   obtain   effective   control, 2   to   maximum 4

applications should be made, with 7 - 10 day spray

intervals between applications. Apply at least two

consecutive applications of SUMIPLEO as part of

the insecticide spray program.

To    minimize    the    potential    for    resistance

development, SUMIPLEO should be applied either in

a tank mixture with DIPEL DF (L6441),  or in a spray

program   commencing   with   at   least   two

consecutive SUMIPLEO applications, followed by at

least    two    consecutive    DIPEL    DF                                        (L6441)

applications, applied at the registered dosage rate.

Refer to the DIPEL DF (L6441) label for further

details.

Do not apply more than four SUMIPLEO applications

per growing season.  Should more applications be

needed in order to obtain season long control of

insect pests, other insecticides with a known mode

of action that is different to that of SUMIPLEO or

DIPEL DF (L6441) should be applied.

MAIZE (including

Sweetcorn)

Fall Armyworm

larvae

(Spodoptera

frugiperda)

300 mℓ/ha

Apply  SumiPleo  as  a  full  cover  application  in

minimum of 200 ℓ water /ha. Apply as soon as the

pests are noticed in presence of either eggs or small

larvae (≤ 1 cm), or when no more than 5 % of plants

exhibit feeding damage, or as a follow-up treatment

in a spray program.

To obtain optimum control repeat treatment within 7

- 10 days post initial application.

Do not apply more than two SUMIPLEO applications

per growing season.  To minimize the potential for

resistance         development,                         SUMIPLEO                         is

recommended  in  a  spray  program  with  other

insecticides with a different mode of action such as

an initial FlorBac WG (L5531) application, applied at

the registered dosage rate.

Refer to the FlorBac WG (L5531) label.

Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions, because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of a pest against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application.  The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration.  Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty.

Precautions

Avoid contact with the concentrate.   Avoid inhalation of spray mist.   Wear face shield when handling concentrate.   Wash with soap and water after use.   Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing and applying or before washing hands and face.   Avoid drift of spray onto other crops, grazing,  rivers,  dams  and  areas  not  under  treatment. Prevent  contamination  of  food, feedstuffs, eating utensils, drinking water, springs, dams and rivers.  Clean spray equipment after use and dispose of wash water in a safe place.

Rinse empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10% of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the
container in the prescribed manner.   Destroy container by perforation and do not use for any other purpose.

Resistance Warning

SUMIPLEO is a group code UN insecticide.  Any insect population may contain individuals
naturally  resistant  to  SUMIPLEO  and  other  group  code  UN  insecticides.  The  resistant
individuals  can  eventually  dominate  the  insect  population  if  these  insecticides  are  used
repeatedly. These resistant insects may not be controlled by SUMIPLEO or any other group
code UN insecticide.

To delay insecticide resistance:

  •  Avoid exclusive repeated use of insecticides from the same insecticide group code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different insecticide group codes.
  • Integrate the control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into insect control programs.

For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this
product.
