The benefits of process aids are more prominent when the process equipment goes through a conditioning period. This conditioning time is dependant upon how much concentrate is used. If used at 100% for 10-20 minutes, it should be sufficient to coat the barrel screw and die. If high concentrations are not feasible, less concentrate may be used, but this will increase the conditioning time to 1hour. Once the process equipment has been conditioned properly, maintenance levels as low as 0.2 % up to 2 % is usually sufficient.
