Applications & Uses

Recommended Applications
  • RADGLO® VSF-0-01 YELLOW should be dispersed in the final application to the desired particle size.
  • Depending on the application, VSF-0-01 has a limited heat stability, so we recommend to test this in advance.
  • VSF-0-01 is recommended for:
  1. Non destructive material testing/crack detection of metal surfaces Ferromagnetic metals like steel, cast iron or welding seams are often subjected to a magnetic powder test to determine whether a finished part is free from faults or cracks. For magnetic powder tests, VSF-0-01 can be mixed with magnetizable iron oxide to create fluorescent magnetic powders which will highlight the cracks in the light of a UVlamp.
  2. Fluorescent markings VSF-0-01 can be used for fluorescent markings which can be applied by stamping with a coding machine.

  6. Waterborne rotogravure inks
  7. Waterborne offset inks

Solubility and bleeding data
  • Testmethod Solvent Resistance (R): 0.5 gram of pigment dispersed in 10 ml of solvent; after stirring for 1 minute, the mixture is left at 38 °C over 30 minutes. The solvent attack on the pigment indicates the solvent resistance. The higher the number (5) the better.

  • Testmethod Dissolution (D): 0.5 gram of pigment dispersed in 10 ml of solvent; after stirring for 1 minute and storage for one week at room temperature, the mixture is filtered. The transmission % is measured of a 50 times diluted filtrate. The higher the number (5) the better.
