BONDiT™ A-37 is a high performance, high temperature moisture resistant, primer, adhesive, adhesion promoter and additive used with metals, glass & ceramics, elastomers and polymers. BONDiT™ A-37 offers a wide range of capabilities for promoting moisture resistance chemical bonding between minerals and polymers, as well as dissimilar polymers. it is used as a primer coat and additive for other BONDiT™ coatings and encapsulants. BONDiT™ In particular A-37 may be used as a primer to promote adhesion to silicone rubber and for vulcanizing silicone rubber to many substrates.

Identification & Functionality

Product Type
CASE Ingredients Functions
Powerful Reactant

Promotes chemical reactions with polymers previously considered non-reactive, and bonding with many dissimilar polymers: sili- cone, polyolifins, UHMW PE, PEI.

Bonding Agent And Additive

A primer coating on metals, glass and ceramics and dissimilar polymers for adhesion of thermoplastics, thermoset, and rubbers, particularly for silicone rubber.

Moisture Resistant

Creates polymer and adhesive bonds that are highly moisture and corrosion resistant. Outstanding performance in high pH environments. Operational temperatures 200 °C. Nearly optically clear coating.

Curing Guide

A wide range of curing regimes may be employed. Typical cure is 150°C (302°F) for 5 minutes. As an adhesive for bonding silcone rubber apply liberally to the substrate, allow to dry 15 minutes; jig the silicone rubber component to maintain intimate contact with the primer, then heat for 1 hour a 200 deg F. For vulcanizing silicone rubber to a substrate, apply liberally to
substrate and allow to dry for 15 to 30 minutes; then vulcanize silicone to the primed surface. For some substreates the first coat may be absorbed somewhat; in such case apply a second coat before vulcanization. May be brushed, sprayed, or poured. Wetting qualities are superior, even on non-polar surfaces.
