SABIC's Specialties Business NORYL PPE 640 powder is a medium-high molecular weight polymer based on Polyphenylene Ether (PPE). This material is intended for use as an additive or a building block in a variety of thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers such as Styrenic Block Copolymers. PPE powder can be used to improve properties (i.e. Heat Distortion and Creep Resistance). It is hydrolytically stable and non-hydroscopic (typically less than 0.2% water uptake). The polymer is soluble in common organic solvents like toluene, chloroform, and THF. Chemical name: Poly (2,6-dimethyl-, 1,4-phenylene ether) (PPE) Formula: (C8H8O)n Regulatory Status: Complies with the FDA regulation 21CFR 177..2460. Also complies with EU Directive 2002/72/EC. The material has global food contact compliance (FDA, CN, EC), potable water certifications: NSF 61, KTW-BWGL, EN16421. REG4, ACS, WRAS re-certifications are in progress. Features are excellent mechanical, and dimension properties up to high temperatures also under wet conditions. The material offers very good hydrolytic and chemical resistance for an amorphous material. The material is RoHS compliant. Certified colors are natural (transparent amber) and black.

Features are excellent mechanical, electrical and dimensional properties up to high temperatures. The material provides low staining, microwave transparent and cold to the touch solutions. The material may offer very good chemical resistance for an amorphous material and is inherently flame retardant offering UL94 V0 and 5V ratings. The material is RoHS compliant. The base material is transparent amber colored but is also available in custom colors - transparent and opaque. SABIC's Specialties Business High heat resistant polycarbonate copolymer, provides DTUL of 290F at 264 psi. FDA food contact compliant in limited colors. Effective January 15th, 2008 this grade will no longer be supported with biocompatibility information and should not be used for medical applications which require biocompatibility. SABIC's Specialties Business LEXAN™ EXL1443T polycarbonate (PC) siloxane copolymer resin is an injection molding grade with FDA and EU food contact compliance. This resin offers excellent low temperature (-30 C) ductility in combination with medium flow characteristics and excellent processability with opportunities for shorter IM cycle times compared to standard PC. LEXAN™ EXL1443T resin is available in transparent and opaque colors and is an excellent candidate for a broad range of food contact applications. ULTEM PW2100 resin offers specific colors designed and certified for use in potable water applications.

SABIC's Specialties Business LNP™ COLORCOMP™ Compound WQ117945 is a PET based masterbatch for foaming applications containing a nanostructured, non-mineral based additive. Typical usage levels in final foam formulations are below 5%.
