THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 BK is a black, non-halogen thermoplastic wire and cable compound. It is designed for use in a wide variety of jacketing applications. This compound has superior fire performance; including slow flame propagation, self-extinguishing characteristics, and low smoke production. It is suitable for use as a jacket compound for cables recognized under UL 1277 tray cables and can pass flame retardant requirements set forth under UL 1685, IEEE 1202 and FT-4. THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 BK is recognized under UL 2885 as being halogen free. It is UV resistant and RoHS compliant.

Processing

THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 BK can be processed very easily on a wide range of commercially available extrusion equipment. It can withstand extrusion temperatures up to 425°F, but recommended temperatures are much lower. A typical temperature profile would be:

It is recommended that THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 BK be pre-dried in a heated desiccant system prior to processing for 2 – 4 hours at 120°-130⁰F (49°-55⁰C) for. The recommended target dew point is -40⁰C.
