- Properties
POLURENE BK 1175 is an internal crosslinker used for the formulation of IK productsbased on hydroxylated resin, polyester and acrylic.
POLURENE BK 1175 is an aliphatic product with optimum weathering resistance for outdoor application. Its high flexibility gives perfect adhesion on metallic substrate that need post forming process.
POLURENE BK 1175 is cured in oven and finds its application in stoving enamels for OEM, can and coil coating.
Typical stoving cycles for POLURENE BK 1175 in combination with saturated polyester are: 160 °C 60 min, or 180 °C 15 min, or 200 °C 7 min or once catalyzed 130 °C 60 min, or 150 °C 15 min, or 175 °C 7 min.
Depending on the resin used and the stoving time, yellowing may occur at temperatures above 160 °C. In coil coating systems, POLURENE BK 1175 cures without the addition of DBTL @ 241°C PMT (peak metal temperature) and above. With addition of 1 % DBTL, same system reacts @ 224 °C PMT. The activation condition are function of the temperature and time, can be considered a general guideline that curing can be from 20-40min @ 150°C to 5-10min @ 200°C. The combination with catalyst let the possibility to reduce time and/or temperature.
