MARLOWET ether carboxylic acids are low foaming anionic surfactants. They are based on alcohols from C9 to C18, with different alkoxylation degrees. The MARLOWET product range is a water soluble lubricant efficient in hard water and active at extreme pH. It can be used in various applications including as a corrosion inhibitor (organic anti-corrosion agent), wetting agent, defoamer, hydrophilic emulsifier for water based metalworking fluids and exhibits high lime soap dispersing properties.

Sasol Chemicals' ISOFOL Alcohols are primary, saturated alcohols with defined branching of the carbon chain. Such alcohols are chemically described as 2-alkyl-1-alkanols and also referred to as Guerbet alcohols. ISOFOL Alcohols are high purity alcohols which offer excellent oxidative and color stability. They are available with even carbon chain lengths of 12 to 28. Additionally, the twin 100% linear alkyl branches of the ISOFOL Alcohols give a lower viscosity and better biodegradability than dimer alcohols derived from oxoalcohols. The unique chemical structure of the ISOFOL Alcohols also provides good solubility and solvency. The various derivatives synthesized from ISOFOL Alcohols maintain many of the beneficial properties of the parent alcohol.

ALFOL® is a blend of high purity petrochemical-based linear primary alcohols. They are physically and chemically equivalent to corresponding oleochemical based alcohols derived from such sources as coconut oil or palm oil.

DISPAL is the trademark for Sasol's high-purity, highly dispersible boehmite powders and sols/dispersions manufactured in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA.These boehmites, which are nano-sized in the dispersed phase, exhibit a unique combination of purity, consistency and dispersibility that make them excellent materials for use in colloidal applications.The Sasol range of dispersible boehmites has traditionally been used in applications such as sol-gel ceramics, catalysis, refractory materials, rheology control and surface frictionizing.Other applications include surface coating as well as paint detackification, polymeradditives and functional fillers.This portfolio is complemented by additional products trademarked under the name DISPERAL, which are produced by Sasol in Brunsbüttel, Germany.

LIPOXOL grades provide a unique property profile, combining high water solubility, lubricity and low toxicity with excellent solvent properties. Our LIPOXOL products have various functions in various industries including acting as a solvent in cleaners and a binder in detergents and tablets.

EMULDAC AS-25 is widely used as dispersing agent in industrial applications, in particular in polyester dyeing processes and emulsion polymerizations. EMULDAC AS-25 is suitable for detergent applications in automatic dishwashing tablets and toilet rim blocks. EMULDAC AS-25 is also suitable for personal care applications as O/W emulsifier in a broad range of pH and as dispersant for “hair-dyeing” formulations.

These characteristics make these products an ideal raw material building block for washing powder, detergent tablets, liquid detergents, detergency boosters, all-purpose cleaners, bathroom cleaners, floor cleaners, dishwashing detergents, vehicle cleaners and other defoamer and emulsifier applications.

SASOL's NACOL pure cut alcohol portfolio are derived from petrochemical or oleochemical feedstock. The products are even-numbered and primary alcohols.

PARAFOL single cut paraffin are an alternative choice when looking for-non polar solvents, oils or wax additives. PARAFOL single cut paraffin are high purity, linear paraffin from renewable resources and are environmentally friendly options for oils, wax additives, emollients, and silicone.

LPA Solvent is a high-purity mixture of hydrotreated isoparaffins and naphthenics with very low levels of polynuclear aromatics. It is a clear liquid with a medium flash point and mild odor.

ISOCARB acids are derived from Sasol’s proprietary Guerbet alcohols, available with even numbered carbon chain lengths of 12, 16, 24 and 32. ISOCARB acids comprise excellent corrosion inhibitor for the metalworking fluids. They also improve the formulation stability for metalworking fluids, both for semi-synthetic and fully synthetic and may be neutralized to the salt using widely available amines.

Sasol Chemicals NACOL Ethers are high-purity, biodegradable ethers derived from analogous linear alcohols. NACOL Ethers are available with chain lengths between C12 and C36. Each is compatible in a wide variety of applications, including flow assurance, cleaning applications as an alternative to d-limonene, asphaltene remediation and microemulsion formulations. Liquid NACOL Ether based on linear alcohols (C6 to C10) have high purity (> 96 %), excellent flow and low viscosity properties, are fast spreading agents, with excellent solubility and good pigment wetting properties. This is a great alternative to many silicone additives with its higher polarity than paraffins and stable pH. Solid NACOL Ether based on linear alcohols (C12 to C18) have a sharp melting profile, high latent heat, are hydrophobic, have a higher polarity than paraffins, with tunable hardness and good pigment compatibility.
