Sasol DABS

DABS is sulphonate of heavy alkylate, bottom of alkylation process of benzene with linear olefins. DABS is a mixture of sulphonic acids, polyalkylate sulphonates and disulphonic acids; it mainly contains dialkylbenzene sulphonates. Storage and Handling
  • DABS should be stored preferably in stainless steel or HDPE packaging.
  • DABS is a dark viscous liquid at room temperature and becomes pasty material at temperatures lower than 0°C. It is suggested to store the product at temper ature below 40°C. DABS is miscible in water.
  • DABS acid form is not susceptible to microbial contamination. Shelf-life, applicable only for packed DABS, is 7 months from production date for product in its original and sealed packaging.
