Omega 3, 6 and 9 are unsaturated fatty acids (UFA), which are nowadays widely recognized for their nutritional properties and beneficial effects on a healthy body.

On this basis, the Solabia Group has developed a range of Omega Ceramide^® whose technology is based on 3 objectives:
- Stabilization of unsaturated fatty acids: Given their natural instability to oxidation, unsaturated fatty acids must be stabilized in order to facilitate their formulation.
- Formation of a biomimetic Ceramide structure: The molecular design of a biomimetic, "Ceramide-like" structure intended to strengthen or restore the intercorneocytic lipid cement for improved restructuring and protection of the skin.
- Transportation of unsaturated fatty acids (and/or other biological molecules): Preservation, even optimization, of the biological properties of grafted active molecules.

Mechanism of Action

Omega 6, thanks to its concentration in Linoleic acid, plays a vital role in the creation of the epidermal water barrier due to its involvement in the formation of Ceramides 1, the O-acyl-ceramides. Ω⁶CERAMIDE^® possesses soothing properties to relieve inflammation of the skin secondary to environmental aggression that accelerates the skin-aging process.
