STEOL® 4N is a low-active, biodegradable 3-mol sodium laureth sulfate known for excellent flash foam and emulsification properties. Stepan's continuous so₃ process minimizes chloride content through the sulfation of the fatty ethoxylate. Its applicability spans detergents, dishwashers, laundry products, car wash applications, textile applications, industrial cleaning applications, as well as shampoos and bath products.

Applications
  • STEOL 4N is useful in a range of products, from shampoos and bubble baths to liquid detergents. It offers excellent flash foaming and emulsification properties. Foam stability in the presence of soap is much improved over other anionics, thus making it useful for bubble baths and cleaning products containing soap as an ingredient.
  • STEOL 4N is mild with excellent detergent and foaming properties in hard and soft water and compatible with other anionics, as well as nonionics and alkaline builders. Since it does not contain the ethanol commonly used to solubilize the "high-active", 60%, ether sulfates, it can provide improved viscosity response in formulated products.
