Storage & Handling
- Storage Conditions
Non-Bulk Storage Recommendations: It is recommended that drums of STEPANTEX DC 90 be stored in sealed containers at temperatures between 10°C (50°F) and 40°C (104°F). Avoid heating to temperature higher than 50°C (122°F) and avoid local overheating. The color and odor of STEPANTEX DC 90 are susceptible to degradation as a result of exposure to high temperature (> 50°C / >122°F) over extended periods of time (greater than several days), particularly in the presence of air.
Bulk Storage Recommendations: it is recommended that STEPANTEX DC 90 be stored in stainless steel storage tanks of 316L stainless steel. Tanks should be padded with a nitrogen gas blanket and equipped with conservation vent and flame arrestors. Tanks should be adequately insulated to maintain homogeneity, either by a mechanical stirrer or recirculation loop. Bulk storage facilities should be designed to maintain a minimum product temperature of 25°C (77°F) and a maximum temperature of 50°C (122°F).
- Handling Precautions
- It is recommended that STEPANTEX DC 90 be stored in sealed containers kept in a well-ventilated Handling area away from sparks, fire, and open flame.
- Avoid overheating or freezing. Equipment should be grounded when transferring or using material.
- Normal safety precautions (e.g., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handing STEPANTEX DC 90.
- Contact with eyes, nose or prolonged contact with skin should be avoided.
