UCC Shchekinoazot Sulphuric Acid (Battery Acid)

UCC Shchekinoazot Sulphuric Acid (Battery Acid) is a Colorless, odorless, non-combustible, visco-oily hygroscopic liquid. Sulphuric Acid is soluble in water, is highly active when interreacting with reducing agents, organic matters, metals, alkalies, is an aggressive media for non-ferrous metals and light steels (at 90% concentration). At temperature 340°C sulphuric acid degrades into sulfur dioxide (SO2), sulfur trioxide (SO3) and sulfurous gas.

    Packaging & Availability

    Transportation

Sulphuric acid (battery) is transported in railway tanks intended for sulphuric acid as well as carboys. Carboys shall be covered with glass ground or screw polyethylene or plastic covers. Neck of the closed carboys shall be wrapped with a piece of hemp or cotton cloth or polyethylene film and tied up with yarn or rubber cord. 20-liters carboys with acid shall be packed in a polyethylene drums or wooden boxes according to GOST 18573-86 No. 3-2, type V-1 with braces at front and side walls. It is admissible to transport the carboys by vehicular transport, in this case these are packed in wood crates, edges of which shall be higher than carboys neck level not less than 30 mm. Bottom and sides of the carboys shall be surrounded with straw or soft wood chips.

    Storage & Handling

    Storage

Three years from the date of production. Battery acid is kept in clean stainless steel vessels or vessels made of steel St3 grade, which are lined up with acidresistant tile.
