VEEGUM® Ultra

VEEGUM® Ultra Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a unique acidic smectite clay that produces dispersions in the 4.2-5.2 pH range for optimum compatibility with the naturally acidic pH of the skin. VEEGUM Ultra is the easiest of all the grades to hydrate and has a unique white color.

VEEGUM Ultra is for use in any low pH formulation and is particularly useful in sunscreens, acne treatments, and exfoliants. VEEGUM Ultra is a highly purified smectite clay suspension stabilizer, emulsion optimizer and rheology modifier. VEEGUM Ultra also reduces the slippery or sticky feel of gums and polymers, while providing a silky, tack-free feel in topical preparations.

This smectite clay is synergistic with common thickeners such as VANZAN® xanthan gum and CMC. These combinations will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture.
