SILRES® BS 1601 is n-octyltriethoxysilane, which is used undiluted as a water-repellent primer and impregnating agent for normal and reinforced concrete. It offers significant benefits such as the reduction of chloride and water absorption by the concrete, minimizing concrete loss due to freeze/road salt attack, and exhibiting low volatility. Once applied to the concrete, SILRES® BS 1601 reacts with atmospheric moisture or pore water present in the concrete, resulting in the generation of the active ingredient.
