POWERSIL® 3500 MH

POWERSIL® 3500 MH is a high-temperature vulcanizing (HTV) silicone rubber, used as an addition-curing one-component compound for the production of press-cured articles. The resulting vulcanized products are resistant to tracking and display good to very good mechanical properties. The compound does not release any peroxide split products during cure or post-cure processes. The curing system is significantly faster compared to peroxide-curing materials; cure time can be reduced by 30-50%, depending on the wall thickness.

Application Details

The grade is suitable for the manufacture of articles like cable accessories e. g. joints, terminations or single sheds for outdoor applications. Specially thick walled articles can take advantage of the fast curing material.

  • Outdoor or indoor cable terminations
  • Silicone sheds

Processing

POWERSIL® 3500 MH is to be press cured. The material can be processed on conventional silicone rubber injection molding equipment. Caution, danger of deactivation! The Pt-catalyst can be deactivated already via air e.g. by amines, sulfur compounds.

Storage & Handling

Storage Information
  • Once opened, containers should always be resealed after use to prevent the platinum catalyst from being poisoned by amines, sulfur or phosphorus compounds.
  • Caution: Permanent transportation and storage at elevated temperature leads to a partly crosslinking and makes the material unusable.
