Yield10 Bioscience, Inc. is an agricultural bioscience company that is using its differentiated trait gene discovery platform—the Trait Factory—to develop improved Camelina varieties for the production of proprietary seed products, and to discover highly valuable genetic traits for the agriculture and food industries. Our goals are to efficiently establish a high-value seed products business based on developing superior varieties of Camelina for the production of feedstock oils, nutritional oils, and PHA bioplastics, and to license our yield traits to major seed companies for commercialization in row crops, including corn, soybean, and canola.

Mirel

Mirel™ M Grade Resins range from crystalline to amorphous. They can be used as binders in solvent based paints, coatings, and Inks. They are soluble in many industrial solvent systems. Mirel™ Virgin biobased PHA resins can also be used in powder form for matting etc. In aqueous formulations, Mirel™ Virgin biobased PHA resins are biodegradable in soil and in marine and fresh water environments.

Mirel™ M Grade Resins

Mirel™ 8000 Latex is a 55% suspension of semicrystalline Mirel™ biodegradable resin with a a particle size is 1-3 um and typical viscosity from 300-500 centipoise. Mirel™ 8000 coated paper is repulpable, compostable, marine and fresh water degradable. Mirel™ 8000 can be coated onto paper using rod, blade, gravure or flexographic coating equipment. Mirel™ latex can also be used to coat particles as well giving them a hydrophobic surface while being inherently biodegradable. Mirel™ 8000 can also be used as a binder or resin in ink systems or architectual coatings.
