MECHETEC® PC (Polycarbonate) is a transparent thermoplastic that exhibits extraordinary impact resistance and excellent electrical properties. In addition, its low moisture absorption rate and good chemical resistance make it an extremely versatile engineering material and allows for its use in a multitude of industrial applications. Unfilled MECHETEC® PC is a mechanical grade material with light transmittance of approximately 88%. For applications requiring additional stiffness, a 20% glass fiber filled option is available. Formally known as Unicar PC. For more Info : Click Here
GEHR
GEHR PC®
Polymer Name:
Polycarbonate (PC)
Physical Form:
Custom, Rods, Sheets
Features:
High Glass Transition Temperature, High Stiffness, Excellent Transparency Properties, Excellent Mechanical Strength, Good Impact Strength, High Heat Deflection Temperature, High Temperature Resistance, Radiation Resistant, Dimensional Stability, High Temperature Insulation Properties, Chemical Resistant, Amorphous
Density:
1150.0 - 1250.0 kg/m³
Color:
Transparent
GEHR PC® is a transparent material and belongs to the group of amorphous engineering plastics as well as to the polyester family of plastics. It has a high stiffness and extremely high impact strength. It also has a high glass transition temperature and heat deflection temperature (approx. +130 °C). The continuous operating temperature of PC ranges between approximately -60 °C and +120 °C. The material is highly resistant to high-energy radiation. However, it must be stabilized against UV rays, otherwise yellowing may occur. Like all polyesters, PC is not resistant to hot water (from approx. +60 °C) in the long term.
