Fluoro GS 125 is a free-flowing, easily dispersed PTFE micropowder. It provides friction reduction, improved wear protection, and some thickening. In our efforts to constantly improve, Shamrock has been working to develop PTFE micropowders for the grease and lubricant market. We have been determining thickening efficiency with the cone penetrometer using a 50/50 mixture in a PAO6 base oil and wear resistance according to ASTM D 2266 with the 4 Ball Tester in order to provide the industry with PTFE data that relates to grease properties.

Octopol SIB is a high sulfur-containing hydrocarbon useful as an EP agent, film strength improver and mild oxidation inhibitor in the preparation of industrial gear oils, cutting oils, and metalworking applications and greases. The Octopol SIB demonstrates good solubility in mineral oils as well as great thermal stability. It is generally used with other components to produce additives and fluids for gear or metal-working applications. The recommended, typical treating range is 0.50 – 10 % depending on the application; however, it is suggested that lab testing information be used for acceptable performance levels

Octopol MB is an ashless dithiocarbamate ideally suited for formulating antimony-free and lead-free products. The product offers extreme pressure, antiwear and antioxidant properties as an additive in lubricants and greases where heavy metals are not desired. Some typical uses for Octopol MB are in industrial gear oils, hydraulic fluids, and rust and oxidation oils. Octopol MB exhibits outstanding demulsibility and good thermal stability as well as excellent solubility properties in highly paraffinic base stocks. Octopol PTB is a synergistic extreme pressure composition found to give superior anti-wear and antioxidant features contributed to the oil by the particular borate dispersion. Octopol PTB has fluid or semi-fluid consistencies that are desirable for open gears and bearings. This extreme pressure additive has usages in gear sets found in gas compressors, high-pressure hydraulic systems, automotive transmission differentials, and other types or bearings where high-load conditions are prevalent. To avoid the undesirable effects of uncompounded oil under high-load conditions, borates are widely used EP and anti-wear additives. By building a resilient film caused by inorganic borate spheres interacting with metal load-bearing surfaces, this borate dispersion is able to provide outstanding wear protection and load-carrying capacity. The lubricant becomes very stable due to the small size and low density of the dispersed borate.

Octopol AZ-S is a synergistic blend of two extreme pressure additives: zinc diamyldithiocarbamate and sulfurized hydrocarbon. Zinc and sulfur provide a boundary lubrication and sacrificial wear combination protecting parts under the toughest EP conditions. The dithiocarbamate also acts as a corrosion inhibitor and an antioxidant further protecting the lubricating oil. Uses include industrial and automotive gear oils, gear and bearing greases, and some synthetic lubes. Zinc is one of the most widely accepted heavy metals for EP applications.

Poor fuel stability and compatibility are the top issues affecting vessels worldwide with poor quality and off-spec VLSFO. PRI-27 is an excellent choice for all scrubber fitted vessels. PRI-27 has proven it can reduce pH levels so scrubbers can operate legally and when needed. PRI-27 also does an excellent job of maintaining back pressure. The product has excellent extreme pressure properties when used in various greases and it should be used when extreme pressures are predominate. Typical use levels are 1.0 – 2.0 %. Octopol bis DMTD offers additional synergistic performance in combination with Octopol AD and Octopol MB in mining greases.
