SSB® DIVIDE CW FL is a light colored carnauba wax in flake form. It is a hard wax with a high melting point and a fine microcrystalline structure. It is compatible with nearly all natural and synthetic waxes and miscible in a molten state. It is used as a polishing agent for hard coated dragees, for tablets, sweets or dried fruits and vegetables as well as a separating agent for sweets and fine bakeries. It is further used for the consistency in chewing gums and as a fruit coating agent. As a pharmaceutical excipient it is used as a glazing agent especially for an easier swallowing of the tablets. For pharmaceutical dosage forms with a special release profile it is used as a hydrophobic binder, often in combination with other hydrophobic and hydrophilic binders. In ointments and lotions it is used to give the required consistency, in suppositories for hardness and to adjust the needed melting point.
