KURARAY POVAL™ 56-98 by Kuraray is a polyvinyl alcohol. It is a fully saponified, odorless, water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Shows varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. Its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, setting speed and rheology. Exhibits good penetration capacity and good adhesion properties. Offers high cohesion & toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water. KURARAY POVAL™ 56-98 is designed for use in pressure sensitive adhesive labels. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC.

KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It possesses good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. It provides good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is recommended for use in postage stamps and labels. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC regulation.
