Stepan Company
STEPAN® MWA-570 HS
Chemical Name:
1,3-Isobenzofurandione, polymer with 2,2'-oxybis[ethanol]
Functions:
Surfactant, Extreme Pressure Additive, Anti-Wear Agent
Chemical Family:
Polyols, Polyols (Polyester), Anhydrides
Hydroxyl Value:
56.0 - 56.0 mg KOH/g
STEPAN® MWA-570 HS is a diethylene glycol-phthalic anhydride-based modified polyester polyol that exhibits hydrolysis resistance and good thermal stability. It exhibits a good hardness/flexibility balance, clarity, and low color. It is used in metalworking formulations for improved lubrication properties and is a great option as a chlorinated paraffin replacement, either alone or with the addition of phosphate esters. It also shows improved lubrication by showing a reduced average scar when compared to the current industry standard.

Synonyms:
Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-(9Z)-9-octadecen-1-yl-ω-hydroxy-, phosphate, Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-(9Z)-9-octadecenyl-ω-hydroxy-, phosphate, Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-9-octadecenyl-ω-hydroxy-, (Z)-, phosphate, Polyoxyethylene oleyl ether phosphate
Naxonac® 184 is an anionic surfactant designed to meet multiple needs in metalworking fluids. It serves as an emulsifier, wetting agent, anti-wear additive, corrosion inhibitor, and lubricant. Its stability and solubility in alkali systems are some of the main advantages of phosphate esters. It can also be used as a hydrotrope to couple nonionic surfactant systems that are not soluble, while at the same time increasing wetting and detergency properties. With these features, Naxonac® 184 is an excellent choice for metalworking applications.
