TYTAN™ TNBT
Chemical Family:
Titanium Compounds
Functions:
Moisture Scavenger, Catalyst, Adhesion Promoter, Coupling Agent, Crosslinking Agent
Reaction Type:
Transesterification
Features:
Heat Resistance, Corrosion Resistance
Synonyms:
Titanium Butoxide
End Uses:
2K (2 component) Coating
TYTAN™ TNBT is a highly reactive primary titanate that hydrolyzes immediately upon contact with moisture. It is primarily used as a catalyst for esterification, transesterification, and olefin polymerization, and is also highly suitable as an adhesion-promoting and cross-linking agent for hydroxylic compounds or heat- and corrosion-resistant coatings. TYTAN™ TNBT can also be used as a moisture scavenger to extend the shelf life of moisture-sensitive, high-viscosity products. It can only be added to solvent-based products.
