Products in Packaging Coatings: Low Viscosity

SZ 115 is a reactive amine additive used in place of more fugitive amine synergists to increase the cure speed of ultraviolet (UV) cured coatings. When SZ 115 is used in combination with other photoinitiators an increase in cure speed, especially at the surface, can be realized. Recommended levels are from 5 to 10% based on total formulation, usually combined with 5% of benzophenone.

Short-oil alkyd resin modified with phenolic resin

Quickstar™ 650PHC is dendrimeric polyol derivatized with cycloaliphatic rings to improve buffability and fast drying capabilities. Viscosity drops quickly in solvent, so is excellent for high solids coatings.

Elite UVP6300-DP20 is a flexible hybrid ester acrylate which is BPA-free and contains 20% DPGDA.

SE 140 is a difunctional epoxy acrylate oligomer with 30% GPTA. This product is characterized by its low odor, light color, low irritancy and fast cure response. SE 140 is particularly useful overprint varnishes.

Elite UVP6000-TP20 is a flexible hybrid ester acrylate with 20% TPGDA.

CeTePox® 182 R is a reactive diluted Bisphenol A liquid resin, which has a low viscosity.

FR 54/56 SC is a lower melting point product in our fully refined paraffin line. FR 54/56 SC meets FDA requirement 21 CFR 172.886. It is a translucent crystalline material in solid state and is a water white, low viscosity, clear liquid when molten. It has excellent gloss and water repellent properties. Its resistance to most alkalis and acids is good. Its oil content controlled at or below 0.5% ensures that this product will not stain coated materials.

Elite UVP6331-TM25 flexible hybrid ester acrylate which is BPA-free and it contains 25% TMPTA.

Winlex 4025 is a low softening point rosin ester with good stability and mild odor. It is easily emulsified in water by conventional means. The principal uses for this resin are in the formulation of oil varnish, lacquer, hot-melt, heat-sealing, and pressure-sensitive adhesives. It has a suitable FDA status for use in food packaging applications covered by 175.105.

SILMIKRON® is for industrial use, mighty, workable silica sand deposits are of decisive importance. Nevertheless, chemical purity and constancy are not enough in order to apply silica directly as a raw material. In Quarzwerke plants silica sands are thoroughly prepared. The raw material has to pass exten-sive cleaning-, classification-, drying- and iron-free grinding processes in order to produce silica sands, flours and powders. For the production of silica flours and -powders with a defined grain size distribution separation processes are required in addition to iron-free grinding. Quarzwerke are able to produce silica powders with grain sizes down to 1 μm due to a fine-tuned combination of grind- and classification technology. Another refining step is the surface-treatment with silanes or silan-based substances which can be adjusted to the respective application.

KemaPox HF 347 is Modified aliphatic polyamine.

BONDiT™ A-53 is a high performance, high and low temperature one-part primer, adhesion promoter and adhesive for metals, glass & ceramics, thermoplastics and thermoset polymers. BONDiT™ A-53 offers a wide range of capabilities for promoting single coat chemical bonding between minerals and polymers, as well as dissimilar polymers. It is used as a primer coat for other BONDiT™ coatings and encapsulants.

Razeen® SL 4150X90 is a semi-solid epoxy resin based on Bisphenol A as solvent cut 90% in Xylene. Razeen® SL 4150 X 90 solvent cut exhibiting relatively low viscosity and low solvent retention at cured films. The mechanical properties and chemical resistance depending on the binder used in the formulation are outstanding.

LAPOX® AH-543 (XH-80) is a light colored, low viscosity phenalkamine based on cashew nut shell liquid. It can able to cure modified and unmodified epoxy resin at room temperature as well as low temperatures up to 5°C. It is able to demonstrate good curing characteristic in presence of moisture and high humid conditions. When cured with epoxy resins it provides superior corrosion protection coupled with excellent film forming ability and adhesion to variety of substrates.

CeTePox® VP 1795-9 R is a reactive diluted Bisphenol A epoxy resin, which has a low viscosity, CMR-free with excellent wetting properties.

ADD-5065 is a wetting and dispersing additive for enhancing the dispersion of inorganic pigments and stabilizing the suspension of special effect pigments in solvent-based media. It is designed to prevent flooding and floating and hard sedimentation. ADD-5065 can be used in coatings and printing inks.

WSCM-1102 has low viscosity, excellent adhesion on untreated metal and concrete surfaces.
