Products in Prepregs & Molding Compounds: Aramid (Kevlar)

NP193PM is composed of a 17 oz. aramid and "soft glass" fibers are combined to make a fabric that is stronger than pure aramid and less abrasive than glass fabrics. This material is impregnated with a high temperature phenolic resin matrix which includes a non-conducting solid lubricant. This composite has excellent mechanical strength at elevated temperatures and adverse environments. Applications include wear plates for conveyor systems, valve plates, and compressor and pump vanes.

GMS Composites EP – 290 is a nano-toughened epoxy resin matrix prepreg with long shelf life. The product has a versatile curing cycle from 100°C or as high as 150°C, thus enabling the product to be used to produce a wide range of composite items, from large structures to numerous small components. EP-290 is available in a range of substrates such as carbon, glass or aramid. This nano-toughened system has outstanding fracture properties and resistance to microcracking. The prepreg has good flow and is of medium tack.

AX-4270 is Structural Epoxy Aramid Prepreg.

EF 13 are highly toughened High Tg prepregs that can be cured with autoclave and used in extreme applications. The highest glass transition temperature reached with epoxy products.

Evopreg® EPT110 tooling prepregs are based on a low temperature curing, toughened epoxy resin system, formulated specifically for high temperature performance, ease of lay-up and excellent surface finish. The prepregs can be supplied with a range of reinforcement fibers and fabric constructions, including carbon, glass and ampliTex™ flax, and they are best consolidated in an autoclave.

AX-6111 is a General Purpose Flame Retardant Epoxy Unidirectional Prepreg.

45NK is a woven Kevlar® aramid fiber reinforced multifunctional epoxy laminate and prepreg systemengineered to provide in-plane CTE values as low as 6 ppm/°C for compatibility with leadless alumina ceramic chip carriers (LCCC's) and other low expansion SMT devices where control of laminate expansion is critical for solder joint reliability. 45NK exceeds the requirements of IPC 4101/50 (Type AFG).

AX-6270 is a Structural Epoxy Unidirectional Prepreg.

OM 13SF is a Sandable surfacing film and autoclave curable, sandable, Class A giving surfacing film.

CIP Composites CIP333A has dimensional stability in high temperatures (up to 400° F) and offers excellent chemical resistance. Manufactured with meta-aramid textile and a high temperature vinyl ester resin with the solid lubricant PTFE evenly dispersed throughout the resin system.

AX-4112T is a High Performance, Toughened Epoxy Aramid Prepreg.

GMS Composites EP – 284 is a formulated epoxy resin matrix prepreg with long shelf life and improved handling. The product has a versatile curing cycle from as low as 80°C or as high as 150°C, thus enabling the product to be used to produce a wide range of composite items, from large structures to numerous small components. EP-284 is available in a range of substrates such as carbon, glass or aramid. The product also has good dynamic strength properties as well as outstanding hot-wet resistance. The improved handling allows for easier molding of complex parts. The prepreg has good flow and the tack of EP-284 can be varied.

GMS Composites EP – 250 is a formulated epoxy resin matrix prepreg, designed for high temperature resistant composite tooling applications. The product can be cured at temperatures, down to 55°C. This enables the tool to gel and be demoulded from a low temperature plug or model, before continuing to cure the free standing tool up to 200°C. The EP-250 has excellent mechanical properties after low temperature cure. The EP-250 prepreg has good tack and flow. EP-250 is available in a range of substrates such as carbon, glass or aramid.

EF 10 is highly toughened Mid Tg prepreg can be cured with autoclave and used in extreme applications in automotive industry and aviation industry.

EF 12 is above 240 °C. High Tg EF12 resin system is used to produce structural prepregs. Optimized cure methods for these resin systems are Press and Autoclave molding.

Park’s Easycure E-710™ is a modified epoxy system with a low cure temperature of 160-250°F (70-120°C). Easycure E-710™ provides very good mechanical properties with medium toughness and long out time at room temperature.

Evopreg® PFC502 prepregs are a range of fire-retardant, pre-impregnated composite materialsbased on a PFA (Polyfurfuryl Alcohol) bioresin. PFA is a thermosetting bioresin derived from crop waste and is similar to phenolic resin but withlower toxicity and VOC emissions. In addition to its environmental credentials, PFA hasoutstanding fire retardant properties, plus excellent temperature and chemical resistance. The prepregs can be supplied with a range of reinforcement fibers and fabric constructions,including woven and unidirectional E-glass fiber and carbon fiber. They can be consolidated byvacuum bagging, autoclave or press molding and are designed for applications includingaircraft interiors, rail interiors, marine, offshore and construction.

The Evopreg® ampliTex™ + powerRibs™ system, it is possible to match the stiffness of traditional carbon-fiber components, while also reducing component weight. PowerRibs™ are a natural fiber reinforcement grid, designed to provide a significant increase in stiffness for only a minimum increase in weight. Provided as a dry reinforcement supported on a lightweight veil, they are incorporated into a layup which combines standard Evopreg® ampliTex™ prepreg with a specially-tailored resin-rich variant.

CM11 resin is Mid Tg and its prepregs are suitable for hot painting, hot gluing and cataphoresis processes. New resin system not only cures under 3 minutes at 150°C at press under isothermal curing conditions but also hot de-moldable and long out-life of two weeks at ambient temperature. These extreme conditions does not affect the visual Performance of prepreg system with CM11, capable of Class A Surface. Drapability is suitable for press molds and low to medium tack optimized for press curing.

Voltoid® HP-450 is a high density composite designed to provide superior flame barrier properties and dimensional stability at high temperatures. Composed of aramid fiber, filler, and polymeric binders, it features low water absorption and exhibits outstanding electrical and mechanical properties.

Evopreg® EPT120 tooling prepregs are designed to help composite tooling manufacturers improve the flexibility and efficiency of their tooling manufacturing operations, by providing a combination of extended out-life and flexible curing cycles. With an out-life of 21 days, Evopreg® EPT120 prepregs are ideally suited to the production of larger, more complex tools, or to the batch production of multiple tools, ahead of a single (e.g. Weekly) scheduled cure. For applications where rapid turnaround is critical, Evopreg® EPT120 prepregs can be fully cured in a single-shot ramped cure. The prepregs can be supplied with a range of reinforcement fibers and fabric constructions. They require low pressure autoclave processing for optimum surface finish and are suitable for a range of applications including automotive, motorsport, sporting goods and general industrial.

AX-6201XL is a Structural Epoxy Unidirectional Prepreg for Vacuum Bag Only Processing.

CM14 resin is Mid Tg fast cure press curable prepreg system which is also dicy free formulated against waterspot/whitespot problems. CM14 resin system is especially formulated for cosmetic grade visual carbon look. Drapability is suitable for press molds and low to medium tack optimized for press curing.
