Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is considered the world market leader in the production of classic glass-mat-reinforced thermoplastics (GMT). This semi-finished product in panel form was developed primarily as a substitute for metals (steel, aluminum etc.) and its main purchasers can be found in the automotive industry. This is where it is frequently pressed on the industrial scale into complex 3D structural components, although it is also used as panels.

GMTex® is a high-performance thermoplastic composite material that has been developed for applications requiring exceptional impact resistance, strength, and durability. Carbkid® Fiber VE SMC is a polymer composite material reinforced with carbon fiber, which consists of a thermoset resin (usually vinylester or epoxy) and different additives that allow to obtain certain specific characteristics and improve the behavior of the material during the molding process of the final product. While the standard SMC is reinforced with glass fibers, the CSMC is reinforced with cut fibers or carbon fabrics. CSMC materials combine the low-weight characteristics offered by carbon composites in conjunction with a widespread forming process, such as compression molding, which allows for short manufacturing cycles and is therefore suitable for industrial applications in large series.

Verkid® SMC H154 is used in hot press, compression molding for the production of large parts with high mechanical properties and excellent surface finish. It is a glass fiber reinforced compound, in a thermoset resin matrix, with mineral fillers and different additives.

Voltoid® D-800 is a resin-bonded cellulose fiber composite material. The D-800 series of products are specially formulated to provide consistent electrical and mechanical performance under conditions of variable ambient humidity and/or moisture. D-800 is recognized by Underwriters Laboratories for continuous use as an electrical and mechanical barrier to 105˚C. It is easily fabricated by being punched and blanked.

Polynt Group SMC LP 6700 LW is a sheet molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin reinforced with glass fibers. SMC LP 6700 LW is a low weight compounds and it has been developed for structural parts. SMC LP 6700 LW meets mechanical and thermal properties with reduction weight of the final parts. Quantum Composites QC-8560 is a vinyl ester chopped E-glass fiber reinforced ESC® molding compound. It is easily moldable and provides parts that are high strength, fatigue resistant, with high heat resistance and a low density.

Polynt Group SMC 4500 R23 is a sheet molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin reinforced with glass fibers. This SMC has been developed for sink and tray application. SMC 4500 R23 joints good mechanical properties with stain and chemical resistance. SMC 4500 R23 has been studied to show a decorative effect on the part molded. In case of fire the product doesn’t melt, neither does it form droplets nor is smoke generation excessive. The material is compression molded in heated steel molds. It is recommended to work with chrome plated tools. The product contains no halogens or heavy metals nor any candidates from the REACH SVHC list.

SMCarbon® 90CF40-12K - Sheet molding compound based on epoxy resin and reinforced with carbon fibers designed for compression molding technology. This epoxy based SMC is suitable only for application with thickness of 15 mm at maximum.

This SMC has been developed for body panel application, with excellent mechanical properties and excellent surface. Good varnish adhesion and excellent gluing are other peculiarities of SMC LPA 2000 R35. SMC LPA 2000 R35 is formulated according to RoHS, REAC regulation SVHC and WEEE European legislation.

Polynt Group SMC 3300 RF 25 is a sheet molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin, fire retardant grade, halogen-free, reinforced with glass fibers. This SMC has been developed for electrical application. SMC 3300 RF 25 joint good mechanical properties and good fire protection grade. SMC 3300 RF 25 is certified V0 3,0 mm by UL laboratories. SMC 3300 RF 25 is formulated according to RoHS, REAC regulation SVHC and WEEE European legislation.

AMC® 2593 is a chopped carbon fiber reinforced ESC® phenolic molding compound. It is easily moldable and provides parts that are high strength, with high heat resistance, low density and it exhibits low flammability characteristics. The carbon fiber is standard modulus PAN based 3K tow.

menzolit® CarbonSMC™ 1100 is a sheet molding compound based on vinylester resin, it’s Carbon fiber reinforced. In case of fire the product doesn’t melt, neither does it form droplets. The material is molded in heated steel molds on hydraulic presses. It is highly recommended to work with chrome plated tools. For molding and machining, dust proof electrical circuits have to be used (IP54). The product contains no halogens or heavy metals nor any candidates from the REACH SVHC list.
