Jojoba Oil is obtained from the seeds of the jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis). The jojoba shrub belongs to the Simmondsiaceae family. The seeds have a high oil content of roughly 50 percent. From a chemical standpoint, it is a liquid wax. The plant is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is also grown outside of its region of origin, in Israel, Argentina and Peru.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil XPR (MSO XPR) is the fully refined triglyceride derived from the seeds of Limnanthes alba.
