- Applications
Silanes are used in a variety of industrial applications as:
- Epoxy functional silane used as a coupling agent for unsaturated polyester-fiberglass composites, and for polysulfide/polyurethane caulks & sealants
- Enhances wet electrical properties of epoxybased encapsulate and packaging materials
- Eliminates the need for a separate primer in polysulfide and urethane sealants
- Used as an adhesion promoter in waterborne acrylic sealants and in urethane and epoxy coatings
- Coupling agents
- Crosslinkers
- Moisture scavengers
- Resin additives
- Surface modifiers
