    Application

Good surface preparation is essential for strong adhesion. Clean surface by washing, sandblasting, or muriatic acid etching as appropriate for the substrate. Laitance (deceptively sound-looking surface) on new concrete must be removed by etching or sandblasting. Existing coating can be coated over only if brushing with Abocoat 8508-3 shows adhesion without peeling or lifting.

Priming with Primkote 8006-1 is recommended. Mix resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B). Wait 5 minutes before applying. Mix small quantities, especially if weather is warm. Apply with brush, roller, squeegee, wire gage rake or similar tools. Application at temperatures between 60°F and 85°F is preferred. Light traffic is possible after 24 to 30 hours. Full cure takes 1 to 3 weeks. Thin with Abosolv 8006-38 for brushing and Abosolv 8006-3S for spraying. If a longer pot life (working life) is needed, a different hardener can be substituted. Contact technical support. Blending fillers such as sand and aggregate with Abocoat 8508-3 is recommended when large cracks, depressions or holes are to be filled. This reduces cost and obviates damage due to thermalexpansion differentials. Sand can be broadcast on top of the coating, before it hardens, to create a skid resistant surface.

    Maintenance

Clean with detergent and water. Scuff marks can be removed with mild abrasive.
