Technical Details & Test Data
- Solvent
White spirit aromatic free , or mixture of white spirit (17%) and solvents like: xylene , toluen, naphtha solvent
Safety & Health
- Advices
Pigmentation Binder and desired finish may have an impact on the rate of pigmentation
Rate of pigmentation is about 3-20% (applied to finished varnish). 15-20% for anticorrosion coatings 3-4% for automobile parts
Dispersing It is recommended pre-dispersion of the aluminum paste with solvent in ratio Al/S= 1:1 to 1:2 using stirrer with low shear forces or rapid dissolvers at maximum 4 m/s peripheral speed. Cautions Deterioration of the optical effects could happen due to:
1.Heavy mechanical loads during production of coatings
2.Water containing solvents and additives
3.High acid values of components of coatings especially binders
5.Reactive components : chlorinated solvents, Pb based dryers
6.Low surface tensions will entail less brilliance of the paint.
Chlorinated solvents is not allowed in formulation. Avoid polar solvents

- Storage & Handling Recommendations
Store containers indoors keeping off the direct sunshine ,heat sources and water at temperatures between 10 and 30C. Keep ignition sources away.Protect against electrostatic charges. Avoid the contact with water, acid, alkali or halogenated compounds. At higher temperature it is possible the decrease of dispersability or the swelling of can by expansion of the solvent. At lower temperature fatty acid is crystallized.Store containers tightly closed. Otherwise, is possible the drying of paste, contamination and the poor dispersability due to evaporation of solvent and / or moisture absorption. Separation (solvent bleeding onto the surface) may occur when the impact or vibration is given to the container in excess. It is known to happen when the container is transported after being long left in high temperature condition or in the case of being subdivided. Such phenomenon does not mean the deterioration of aluminum paste. The paste can be used after agitating well till it is mixed up uniformly according with dispersion recommendations , using the entire content of container.
