- Surface Preparation
Steel floor surfaces are to be abrasive blasted with chloride free abrasive to SSPC SP-6 Commercial gray metal finish. Grind flat all burrs, weld seams, radius sharp edges. Fresh blasted surfaces to be primed with 10 mils of ARCOR™ EE- 75 or EE-79 followed by a 20 mil Topcoat of ARCOR™ EE-75.
Concrete floor surfaces should be degreased if oil and grease contamination is present. Grind down all high points and protrusions with course aluminum oxide grind disks or scarrifier. Abrasive blast entire surface with open blast or BlasTrac. Hand grind or scarrify all hard to reach areas. Blast should remove all surface laitance, existing coatings and any mastics giving a clean profiled concrete. Prime all areas with 10 mils of ARCOR™ EE-75 or EE-79 followed by a 20 mil Topcoat of ARCOR™ EE-75.
- Mixing
Thoroughly mix Activator into Base with mixing stick or drill with low speed mixing blade. Mix by Volume 3 parts Base to 2 part Activator or by weight 100 grams base to 59 grams activator.
- Application
- Brush use medium to stiff bristle of sufficient quality that bristles do not pull out and stick in coating.
- Roller use good quality 1/4” nap on concrete.
- Floor squeegee use hard rubber ‘notched’.
- Plural Spray use 0.017-0.019 tip, 2,000-2,500 PSI, Heat to 100ºF Base, 100ºF Activator.
- Airless Spray use 0.017-0.021 tip, 2,000-2,500 PSI(Caution: Short Pot-Life)
- Conventional Spray: Not Recommended
All spray equipment should employ traps to prevent water and oil from contaminating coating and screens to prevent particulate contamination.
- Application Temperature
- Keep between 55 to 95ºF (13 to 35ºC). Substrate : Keep between 45 to 105ºF (7 to 40ºC). The difference in temperature of the substrate and the coating should never exceed 10ºF (5ºC).
- Overcoat / Cure Time
Brush or Roller re-coat between 2 and 14 hours at 77ºF (25ºC).
- Clean Up
Clean tools immediately after use with M.E.K., Acetone, 98+% Isopropyl Alcohol or similar
