SCHWEGO thix 8315 increases the viscosity of binders in solvent borne systems and causes pseudoplastic rheology. SCHWEGO thix 8315 acts only on binders containing ester-, hydroxyl- or other functional groups, which are able to form hydrogen bonds. Polar solvents may have an influence on the effectiveness.

- Processing Information
- Add SCHWEGO thix 8315 slowly under constant stirring. Thorough mixing is necessary in order to avoid uneven reaction and subsequent formation of gelled particles. Therefore, it is recommended to add SCHWEGO thix 8315 before dispersion. The final viscosity is reached after approximately 24 hours. Post addition for viscosity adjustment is possible, if homogeneous distribution is guaranteed. The quantities varies with the reactivity of the binder and the necessary viscosity. The recommended dosage is between 0.2 - 2.0 %, for printing inks 0.5 - to 6.0 %.
