Acronal® 5028 is an ammonia-free aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of an acrylic acid ester and acrylonitrile. It is a non-APEO and non-plasticizer product, available in liquid dispersion form. Acronal® 5028 is primarily used to produce highly polymer-modified, cementitious, flexible waterproofing slurries (surface protection, composite waterproofing). Due to its low glass transition temperature, Acronal® 5028 imparts crack-bridging properties to waterproofing slurries even at temperatures as low as −20 °C.

This versatile product finds application in the production of adhesives with a pressure-sensitive character, distinguished by excellent adhesive properties, even in cold temperatures, low water sensitivity, and strong adhesion to both rigid and flexible PVC films, polyester films, electrically pretreated polyethylene, and polypropylene films.
