Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Application Method
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Coverage or Spread Rate
Coverage will depend on the porosity and roughness of the surface. To maximize performance, do not spread more than 150 sq. ft. per kit.
- Substrate Recommendations
All types of concrete, footpaths, paving, driveways, tilt slab construction, asbestos and cement sheeting, wood, cement board, block walls, pattern paving, stamped and slate impression paving, stencil paving, MDF, bricks, drywall & tile.
Note: Not suitable for same day coating on green cured concrete.
- Application
New Concrete:
A minimum of 28 days curing is required, longer in cooler climates prior to coating.
Mixing/Thinning:
Pour resin into new clean bucket and pre-drill for thirty seconds. Add entire components of glass aggregate and stir/mix until uniform. No Dilution is recommended.
Duratec 700i is recommended for NEW, OLD, COATED or UNCOATED surfaces. Surface must be clean and dry. Remove dust, laitance, grease, curing compounds, bond breakers, waxes and any other contaminants. High pressure water blast (Min. 3000 psi) to remove efflorescence, dust and contamination. Clean all new concrete in accordance with TDS guidelines. (This includes: smooth concrete, hardened surfaces, slate impression, polished or ground concrete, stone dust and color hardened concrete, steel toweled concrete and smooth toweled joint and border lines.) All previously coated surfaces must be mechanically prepared before application. Etching, grinding or acid wash and/or a combination of preparation may be required before application. Ensure all dust or chemical solutions are 100% removed from surface before application. High pressure water (Min. 3000 psi) to remove efflorescence dust and contamination. All stains including oil and grease, chewing gum, food, silicon and other contaminants should be cleaned and removed using degreaser. Allow to dry completely before application.
Application:
Duratec 700i is SPRAY APPLIED - Coating all surfacesincluding fully cured concrete: After suitable surface preparation is completed, apply one coat of Duratec 700i. Spray apply in small circular motions ensuring slight wet appearance to the coated surface. Apply a second coat in same manner as first coat to ensure slight wet appearance (observing recoat times as touch dry between coats.) If over coating a dark surface color with a light color, a third dust coat might be required. Do not apply Duratec 700i late in the day as the risk of surface damage caused by dew and condensation increases.
Drying Time:
Curing time is dependent on ambient temperatures
Touch Dry: 30 minutes @ 77°F in direct sunlight
Recoat:
1 to 2 hours, at cooler temperatures or higher humidity drying times will be extended.
Clean Up:
Protecting Our Environment is important to CBT: Clean up with warm fresh water or dispose of equipment. Do not pour left over Duratec 700i down drains or in dumpsters. Unused Duratec 700i should be kept in a sealed container and then disposed of via special waste collection services. Empty containers should be left open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. Dispose of empty containers in accordance with local authority guidelines.
