Features & Benefits
- Materials Features
- Product Properties
- AFCONA-7480 is recommended for unsaturated polyester, PVC, epoxy, and polyurethane resin systems. AFCONA-7480 is mainly used as wetting and dispersing agent, anti-settling agent, to prevent floating, and to stabilize dispersed pigments.
- AFCONA-7480 also works as an anti - separation additive in multi-resin systems, such as PS(polystyrene) and/or SBS(styrene butadiene rubber) with unsaturated polyester resins.
- AFCONA-7480 also has very good wetting power to fiberglass. A system with good fiber wetting will result in better bonding between the fiber and resin, which leads to better mechanical strength of the final product.
- Note: AFCONA – 7480 may become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not impact the performance or quality of the product.
Applications & Uses
- Compatible Polymers & Resins
- Compatible Reinforcements
- Addition and Dosage
- Carbon black and organic pigments:20-100% based on pigment weight
- Fiberglass wetting:0.5 – 2.0% based on fiber glass weight
- Incorporation
AFCONA-7480 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments. However, if used after mixing, please apply high shear force to disperse the product.
