Based on ketoxime and a phosphorous ester salt.
Features & Benefits
- Product Properties
- AFCONA-6700 is an anti-gel additive for air - drying alkyds and heat-cured coating systems. In air-drying alkyd paints, the ketoxime in AFCONA – 6700 forms a protective layer on the surface of the paint to reduce the oxidation caused by oxygen in the air. However, AFCONA – 6700 is mainly used in heat-cured paints to avoid gelling during storage.
- AFCONA – 6700 will block the reactive group of the melamine and will re-release it at 80 - 100°C for a more appropriate reaction. AFCONA-6700 can significantly prolong the shelf life of such a coating.
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Compatible Polymers & Resins
- Coating Type
- Addition and Dosage
0.5 - 1.0 % on total formulation.
- Incorporation
AFCONA-6700 should be added after grinding. Already gelled materials can be restored to processing viscosity by the addition of AFCONA-6700. In such cases, the addition levels should be two to three times higher than given above.
