Features & Benefits
- Benefits
- Provides very good foam knock down and hold down properties in a broad range of different aqueous based systems.
- Is highly compatible, which allows formulations with excellent stability.
- Does not deteriorate the shelf-life of ready to use dilutions.
- Is water dispersible that enables its easy handling as tank side additive.
- Is free of silicone oil, Therefore, it has no adverse effects on finishing processes (e.g. painting, electroplating) of treated parts

- Application
- TEGO® Antifoam 793 can be incorporated into formulation concentrates to obtain low foaming fluids.
- The defoamer concentrate is particularly suited as tank side defoamer for post-addition to water-mixed ready to use dilutions.
- TEGO® Antifoam 793 is applicable for emulsifiable as well as for water-soluble metalworking fluids and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids. In mild alkaline cleaners.
- TEGO® Antifoam 793 can be recommended as tank side defoamer.
- Processing and Usage
- TEGO® Antifoam 793 is used in a wide range of different water based applications. Therefore, the dosage of TEGO® Antifoam 793 may vary. We recommend for first tests to incorporate 0.1 - 0.2 % of TEGO® Antifoam 793 in the formulation concentrate. For its use as tank side additive, a dosage of 50 - 100 ppm is recommended. If used as a tank side defoamer, TEGO® Antifoam 793 can be applied as delivered in its concentrated form or as predilution in water.
- We recommend a predilution in a mixing ratio of 1:3 (i. e. 1 part TEGO® Antifoam 793 and 3 parts water). It is important to note that the water is slowly added into TEGO® Antifoam 793 under continous stirring at low shear rates. However, aqueous predilutions of TEGO® Antifoam 793 are not long-term stable and have to be used within a few hours.
