Graphite-filled PTFE is the crystalline modification of high purity carbon with excellent wear properties, particularly against soft metals.

Fluoro-Plastics Graphite-filled PTFE

Bronze-filled PTFE contain high percentage of bronze powder (40 - 60%) yields high thermal conductivity and better creep resistance. It is often used in hydraulic systems, particularly superb as linear bearings, e.g. slides, gibs, guideways.

Polyimide-filled PTFE operates well against soft mating surfaces like aluminum, mild steel, brass and plastics. It is ideal for stop-start applications to eliminate stick-slip.

Skived PTFE - VS3/32X12A is ideal as a slide surface, for chute liners, other kinds of liners, or for cutting or stamping into gaskets (asbestos substitute) and diaphragms, including complex stamped gasket configurations. It comes in sheets from 60 inches by 60 inches square to rolls 60 inches wide. Material may be ordered in long lengths as individual sheets. The material can be wound on a three-inch cardboard or PVC core. The material may be ordered etched for bonding on one or both sides for an additional charge (both Sodium Ammonia and Sodium Naphthalene etching are offered).

Mineral-filled PTFE is used for food processing and pharmaceutical bearing applications. It is compatible with a wide variety of mating surfaces, both soft (e.g. mild steel) and harder surfaces.

Glass-filled PTFE - GS020X12A is an extremely tough, weatherproof, interface material that can be cut or stamped into configurations to match the dimensions of the opposing surfaces. Fluoro-Plastics has been producing compounded PTFE products and shapes since compounding was invented.

Modified PTFE Rolls - MOD002X12 has the same performance characteristics as standard PTFE, viz. exceptional chemical resistance, high and low-temperature capabilities, anti-stick performance and low friction. Compared to standard PTFE modified PTFE displays remarkably enhanced performance characteristics.

Virgin PTFE Rolls - VS001X12 is a versatile, unsupported hydrophobic membrane with broad chemical compatibility. It is compatible with various sterilizing methods (500°F). For these reasons, it is extensively used as a barrier film in many applications. It is widely used in the wire and cable industry as a wrap because of its extraordinary insulating ability. Some specialty PTFE resins can be made into a thin film with a breakdown voltage of over 1000 volts per mil.
